This past Saturday, to raise money for Free The Children, I hosted a Princess Tea Party! Every princess paid 10$ at the door, which allowed them to decorate a cupcake, make a tiara, have a cup of iced tea, make a bracelet, colour a princess picture, and get their nails painted! We had the music blasting, and everybody singing along, while enjoying a fun girls day. I believe this was a great success, because on top of raising 200$ for Free The Children, it allowed all the little girls to feel like royalty. I believe it is important, once in a while, no matter what age, to have a day dedicated to you, allowing you to feel important. The tea party not only allowed the girls to spend the day being pampered, it also allowed them to dress up and spend the day with their friends. Even though I was probably 10 years older than all the girls, I had lots of fun painting their nails, and singing along with them! I would definately host another Princess Tea Party, it was worth all the preparation and work. I would also at this time like to thank The Benson Center for allowing me to host the party in one of their halls. Without them, this would not have been possible. I would also like to thank all of my friends and mother, for dressing up and volunteering. It is nice to know I have such great support on my journey to Miss Teen Canada, and all the other one’s I may take.
